"He does," True said, motioning toward Proditer. "Sam, be careful, but go check his pockets. He always carried one in the left front."

Sam nodded and gingerly took the phone from Proditor's pocket before he ran back to True, giving him the phone.

True grunted and dialed the phone. "Hello? 911? Yeah, um, my emergency is I found a guy that was supposed to be dead, he was being held and tortured, and now we're all beat up good and would you please send someone to rescue the rescue crew?" He gave them the address then let his head drop.

The police dispatched EMS and a squad car to their area. Gaster looked at True, although he couldn't see him very well. "I can't thank you enough. Both of you."

True just snorted. "Yep, cause I was a biiiiig help. You should be thanking your son. He did all the work."

Gaster laughed softly and carefully held Sam close.Sam seemed to be really comforted by that. The EMS and squad arrived, immediately taking Gaster to the hospital. The police arrested Proditor, who was just starting to become conscious again. One officer asked True about Shuni, who an officer had started to go over to handcuff.

"He's a victim," True said suddenly. "Works for Proditer, but not by choice. We can watch him. Put me back in my chair, please?" Stupid break...

A couple of officers helped True back into his chair. They started to interrogate Sam on what happened.

Shuni began to stir, whimpering softly. His eyes widened in fear as he stared around. Suddenly, he bolted, running to the only safe spot he knew. His cat room.

True considered following, but Same was of greater importance to him. He stayed at Sam's side, watching tiredly.

Some officers started to interrogate True as well. Once Sam was gone giving his story, he went over and hugged True's arm.

True rubbed his back as he tiredly gave his statement. Once finished, he asked, "Look, can we please go now? We have to pick up his brother from school then go to our dad at the hospital."

The officers nodded, and asked if they wanted a ride to the school.

"Yes, please." No way was True going to make it wheeling, and he doubted Sam could, either. He placed an arm around Sam's shoulder and pointed the way out.

They led the duo to the cruiser and offered to help True in, and folded his chair into the back trunk. Sam cuddled up next to True the whole way to Paul's school.

True rested in the back seat, holding Sam against him. "One of us needs to get out and meet Paul," he said quietly when they arrived.

Sam offered to. He went to the usual spot and met Paul, who grew worried but followed his brother to the cruiser's back seat, sitting between Sam and True. The little boy looked at True with concern. "True? What's happening?"

True hesitated, trying to figure out exactly what to tell him. "Dad was in an accident and got a little banged up. He's going to be fine, but he has to stay in the hospital a couple of nights to help him get better. Okay?"

Paul nodded. "Can we go see him?" Paul asked. He wanted to make sure his dad was okay.

"That's where we're going right now," True promised. "Just be quiet and calm when we get there, alright?"

Paul nodded and fell quiet. The sweet kid was clearly worried about his dad.

True was glad he didn't know the extent of what had happened and hoped he never would. He thanked the officers for everything they'd done and tiredly led the way to the nurses' station, getting information on Gaster's condition and his room number.

Gaster was in stable condition, and doing very well now. When they saw him, the good doctor had an IV in his arm, and had a bunch of bandages all over, but otherwise looked fine. They didn't have his glasses, but loaned Gaster a pair that was close to his prescription until either his was found, or his family brought his backup pair from home. Paul jumped up and tackled his dad in a hug, which made him wince in pain at first, but he still smiled and hugged his son.

True smiled at the display and brought his chair up close. "How are you feeling?"

"Physically, terrible. Mentally and emotionally, I am feeling quite a bit better already." Gaster said honestly. "I don't like hospitals, but I should be able to be discharged tomorrow, they said."

"Good," True smiled. "I'm ready for us all to be home."
