Dragon Rider Play

Mark nodded graciously at the compliment.

Mellon churred in Tithenor's arms. Games? He would love to play games with his wonderful rider!

The teachers waited patiently as the other riders filtered in. They talked softly among themselves, discussing how to split up the trainees into groups. Obviously their training groups, but which groups would work together?

Tithenor patted his dragon. Erika perked up a little, curious, now. The Frillback squirmed in Mark's arms, excited. Play time!

Blade tried to untangle Erika from his hair without pulling too much hair out. "Come on. Let's find something to do. I think I still have a coin or two we can play with."

Mellon rubbed his head on Tithenor's hand.

Mark smiled and set his Frillback down. "What do you want to play?" He asked the little dragon.

Erika chirped and climbed down, shaking herself free of the dark locks. She looked at Blade expectantly, twitching her wings.

Tithenor knelt and set him down. "/We will play in just a moment./"

The Frillback hopped in circles, chirping excitedly.

(What kind of games could they play?)

(Blade actually has light brownish hair XD I may have messed that up earlier, but that's what it's suppose to be lol And hmmm... maybe a catching or chasing game? Or the hatchlings could tussle with each other?)

Blade took out a coin and tossed it to Erika.

(That sounds like fun. Take zee lead?)

Eirika jumped enough to catch it, holding i proudly in her mouth. Caught it!

Blade smiled and praised her. "Okay, now toss it back."

Mark smiled. "I have an idea. Tithenor, let's play tag with our two dragons."

(I meant the teachers. Shouldn't the teachers be showing them these games?)

Erika tipped her head, considering. She could toss it back... Or she could run away with it! The little Blade dragon turned tail and wadled away as fast as she could with her awkward gait.

"How do you suggest that?" Tithenor asked.

(Oh... probably. How about just if some seem uncertain what to do, and they walk through and observe how they interact to refine their teams?)

"Erika!" Blade called out. He chased after his dragon.

"Well, one of us four is 'it,' and must tag another to continue the game." Mark explained. He poked his dragon. "You're it. You must touch either me, Tithenor, or Melloraumo to make one of us it, and then avoid being tagged yourself."

(I am confused...)

Erika cackled, clearly enjoying herself as she ran away with her prize, keeping an eye on her rider. Come and get her!

The Frillback chirped happily and tried to lick Mark. What was this poking game? He purred and chirped, trying to understand.

(At what part/parts?)

Blade ran after her. "Erika! Get back here!"

Mark moved out of the way. "You have to catch me, little one."

Tithenor was about to respond when Erika ran passed him, still chortling mischieviously.

Mark's Frillback watched, utterly confused. Was that the poke game Mark was trying to teach him?

Blackwater cleared his throat to gather everyone's attention. "Everyone, gather round and we shall teach you a good game to play with your dragon chicks. This game is designed to help develop their hunting skills."

Would that be before or after the little Blade dragon ran her rider ragged? Tithenor wondered, watching in amusement as Erika scurried to hide behind Mark.

Blade continued to chase after Erika. "Erika! This isn't funny! I thought you said you would be nice to me the rest of the day today!"

Erika peaked oout from behind Mark's legs, giving Blade a look of pure innocence. How was she not being nice? He had wanted to play, hadn't he?"

"We need to listen to the teacher now, okay?" Blade prompted. "He's going to tell us a game to play once everyone is gathered up."

Erica huffed and came over to him, handing him the coin. Okay, fine, what was this teacher going to show them that was more fun than catch the coin?

Blade picked Erika up and put the coin away before he listened to what Blackwater was telling them.

"We will be dividing into four teams, each headed by one of us professors. each professor will hand you a silken scarf of your team's color. The goal is to guide your dragons to collect the most scarves for your team without losing your own. Each rider will be wearing a scarf. If your dragon gets a rider's scarf, they must be guided by you to give it to your team leader before the other dragons on the enemy team steals it back." Blackwater looked over at Krudd. "Good friend, do you wish to have the first pick?"

(Four way capture the flag with dragons!)

Tithenor clicked his fingers, gesturing for Mellon to stand right next to him. They had to deal with others? He'd rather not, but if that was what must be done...

Erika tipped her head. She got to chase pretty scarves? That would be fun!

The Frillback clung to Mark, looking to him for direction. What was going on?

(Is Krudd going to pick first for who he wants on his team or no? XD)

Krudd considered for a moment then pointed to Blade. "That one."

(Lol you're good XD)

Blade nodded and went to stand behind the forgemaster. He wondered where Mark and Tithenor would be placed.

Blackwater nodded to Lucious, offering him the next pick.

Erica chirped, standing proud. First one picked!

Lucious considered for a much longer time than Krudd before pointing out one of the other lads that had shown promise in his class.
