Dragon Rider Play

Erika arched her neck, chittering excitedly. She'd be good!

Tithenor went to Mellon's cage to check his dragon.

Blade smiled, happy as he stroked her. Erika was a good friend as well as Tithenor.

Mellon was fast asleep, sprawled out in what looked like an uncomfortable position, but he seemed to be sleeping well enough.

Tithenor smiled at his dragon then glanced at Blade. "I thought I might take my dragon hunting this morning. Would you two care to come?"

Blade looked to Erika. "What do you think? Want to go hunting?"

Erika let out a little eager bark. Yes!

Pat stumbled iin then, rubbing her eyes blearily. Getting up early wasn't fun. "Morning."

Nightshade agreed in the form of still sleeping.

Blade smiled. Tithenor, Mellon, Erika and I are going hunting. Care to join?"

"Um, okay," Pat agreed uncertainly.

Blade smiled and looked between them. "Well, I'm ready to go when you two are."

Tithenor went to Mellon's cage, opened iit, and began stroking him. "/Time to wake, little one. We are going hunting!/"

Pat shook herself to wake up and headed toward her dragon. "Belladonna Nightshade! Time to be up, pretty girl!"

Melloraumo crooned softly as he slowly woke up. He licked Tithenor's hand with his small, soft tongue.

Nightshade grumbled and cuddled her treasure from Pat more. The dragon tried to go back to sleep.

Pat sighed, poking her gently. "Come on, Nightshade. We have to be up, and at least you can nap later."

Tithenor smiled as he scooped Mellon up and cradled him. "/Good morning./"

Nightshade grumbled but got up. The groggy dragon curled up in Pat's arms.

Melloraumo crooned and affectionately rubbed his head against Tithenor.

"Where are we going to hunt?" She yawned.

"Just the first island," Tithenor told her as he headed out.

Blade followed the elf with Erika. He hoped they could get something she liked.

Nightshade fell back asleep, cuddled in Pat's arms.

Erika climbed up onto Blade's head, yawning and stretching her wings.  She liked early morning!  Everything was sparkly.

Tithenor nudged Mellon gently, talking to him as they walked so the young dragon would stay awake.

Pat just stumbled after the other two, yawning and trying to stay awake.  She was sleepy!

Blade smiled. The dew did indeed make everything glitter, he thought in agreement with his dragon.

Mellon woke up more and more. He liked listening to his rider talk. Even though the dragon was awake, he was still really mellow right now.

"Blade, would you care to choose our starting point?" Tithenor asked politely.

Blade considered before he shook his head. "I'm not that good in the woods, I've discovered. I'm better in an urban area."

"Very well, then if you would follow me?"  He started toward where he'd found the still pool of water.  There would be animals there.

Blade nodded and followed as quietly as he could. For someone not as used to the woodlands, he did a pretty decent job of doing so.

Pat blundered.  She heard Tithenor sigh a couple times and tried to walk softer, but eventually she had to give up.  It simply wasn't happening.  At last, they reached the pond and Pat sat down.  Okay, Now she could be quiet!

Blade peered in the pond. Maybe there were fish in there? He wouldn't know how to get them out, but he was curious.

Mellon chirped softly at Tithenor. Look for mud prints?

Erika leaned forward when Blade did, peering down curiously.  What was down there.

Tithenor set Mellon down gently.  "Go see what you can find."

Mellon started to walk around the pond as he looked for tracks.

Blade tapped Pat's shoulder suddenly and made a sudden, low noise. He intended on making the other boy jump a bit.

Pat jumped, letting out a yell of fright and dumping her poor dragon on the ground.

Tithenor spun, ready to fight, then relaxed when he saw what had happened.  "So much for this spot," he said dryly.
