Dragon Rider Play

(Not zero, just not much of it being serious.  More like deep cat scratches.)

Pat frowned as she examined it.  "It's not great, either.  You should have 53 at least sterilize it.  I'll get you a belt and meet you at the medical ward."

(Okay. That'll work.)

Jeremiah nodded and held his pants and arm as he made his way to the medical ward. The scratches weren't that deep, but they sure stung a lot!

53 had just finished patching up another rider when Jeremiah entered.  "Ah, Erika get a bit carried away again?"

Jeremiah nodded. "She bit through my belt before she squirmed in my arm. One of her spines caught me."

"Mischevious little girl," 53 murmured before he got to work cleaning out the injury and binding it.

Jeremiah nodded. "Yup. Thanks, 53." He said after the healer cleaned and bound his arm. Jeremiah then waited for pat to come back with a new belt as he held his pants up with a free hand.

Pat came right as 53 finished binding the wound.  "I found a belt for you, Jeremiah."

"Thank you." Jeremiah said. He wound the belt through his belt loops before fastening it. He had to make a new hole for the belt to fit right, which wasn't a problem.

"Sorry it doesn't fit quite right," Pat smiled.
Erika watched from under the table, waiting for Jeremiah to finish.

"It's fine." Jeremiah said. "It's the curse of having a narrow waist." He fixed the belt and looked at Pat. "Shall we go?"

Pat nodded.  "We're going to be late now, again, but hopefully Luke is already there."

Jeremiah nodded. "Let's try and run." He suggested.

"Okay!" Pat agreed, running to get Nightshade.

Jeremiah ran after Pat. Nightshade was sound asleep where Pat had left her.

Erika stayed under the table in the medical ward, still hiding.  She wasn't sure if Jeremiah even knew she had followed him.

Pat dropped to her knees by Nightshade and shook her.  "Nightshade!  Time to wake up!"

Nightshade protested and whined loudly, but groggily woke up. She wanted to sleep still!

Jeremiah had no idea Erika had followed him. He had thought she ran back to the rookery.

"No, you need to be up," Pat told her firmly.  "Come on, let's go."  She stood and started walking to class.

Nightshade walked until she found a sunny rock and tried to curl up on that.

Jeremiah sighed. "Stubborn dragon..." He grumbled. "Nightshade and Erika both."

Pat shrugged.  "They are dragons.  Nightshade!  Up!  No sleeping, understand?"

Nightshade grumbled and ignored Pat. She was tired, and the warm sun made her sleepy.

Pat frowned and walked over to Nightshade.  "Nightshade, up.  Now.  You need to stay awake."

Nightshade ignored Pat again and started to doze.

Pat went over and picked Nightshade up and put her on the feet off the rock.  "Nightshade!  I am disappointed in you.  Let's go."

Nightshade grumbled. As soon as Pat took her hands away, the dragon flopped back down on the warm rock.

"Nightshade, I will not carry you, but I will drag you if I have to," Pat warned.  "Do you want that kind of humiliation?"
