DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

"Oh, right," Lex grunted.  "Stop getting hurt and you wouldn't need them."

"Little easier said than done, when you can't feel some pain..." Ashton sighed.

Lex paused and looked at Ashton, resting a hand on his shoulder.  "I know.  I'm sorry."

Ashton shrugged. "Eh. Why are you of all people apologizing?"

"Because I can't help and I should have known to be on the look out for splinters for you," Lex said.

Ashton shook his head. "You're fine. If you should have been on the lookout, then I should have remembered in the first place so you wouldn't have to."

Lex grunted and checked the bandages once more.  "Then we'll both call this a fail.  Can you wiggle your fingers alright?"

Ashton nodded and demonstrated. "Yup."

"Alright.  Looks likt this cn be your temporary gloves for now."

Ashton laughed a little. "Okay. Let's get some wood up."

"Sounds like a plan," Lex agreed.  "First things first, new stairs."

Ashton nodded in agreement. "I think Doc said to put them over there...?" He pointed to the wall near the garage.

"Yep," Lex agreed.  "Nothing fancy, I'm just going to slap up something that'll hold us while we're building stuff then fix it up pretty later."

Ashton nodded and started to suggest a sturdy and simple design with Lex.

Lex added a couple of modifications to Ashton's design then got started.  First, a hole in the floor at just the right spot.  That was harder than it sounded.

Ashton helped every step of the way, in any way he could.

True sighed, listening to the crashes and pounding of hammers and saws.  "I shouldn't complain, but that sure is noisy!"

Kat laughed. "Think they would take kindly to it if I told them to keep it down?"

True cleared his throat and said in his best Lex imitation, "If you know how to hammer quietly, I'll invite you to show me!"

Kat laughed. "That was a pretty good impression. Should we see how accurate your word choice was?"

True grinned.  "Go for it!"

"And what do you want as a prize if you win?" Kat asked with a grin.

True considered.  "How about a make out session?" he asked with a wink.

Kat laughed. "No fair! Then we both win!"

"Then what do you suggest?" True smirked.
