First, Layla gently put her hand on the side of Lex's face, cupping his cheek in her delicate yet still strong fingers for a moment. Then she gently leaned in.... and lightly kissed Lex on the lips. It only lasted for a couple of seconds before she pulled back just a few inches, trying to gauge his reaction.

Lex sat still.  He didn't even blink, his heart beating wildly as he stared at Layla, almost blank in expression.  He felt he should say something.  No.  Words were pointless.  Do something?  Do what?  Kiss her back?  He'd never kissed anyone.  He wasn't even sure how to do it.  So he sat feeling like a stupid awkward lump.

Layla knit her brows in worry when Lex seemed in a comatose. "Lex?" she asked worriedly. "Are you okay?"

"Yes... no.... yes..." Lex said slowly, trying to decide  That was... wow.

Layla smiled a little. "You've... never dated anyone, or were romantic with anyone, have you?"

"Hell no."  Lex cleared his throat.  "I mean... No.  Not really."

Layla smiled softly. "Well...  have you ever wanted to? I've, ah, had some experience."

"Never had the slightest urge," Lex admitted.  "I was... too busy.  Distracted."

"Well, if you ever wanted to, I can teach you." Layla offered. "Whether you want to be with me or not, I can still teach you how to date and be romantic."

"Didn't know it was something that had to be or could be taught," Lex said.  "I thought some people just had it."

Layla smiled. "There are some people naturally more romantic than some, but there are still tricks and techniques people can learn to be more romantic."

Lex hesitated then nodded.  "Sure?  But... maybe later."  He was tired and wanted to rest.

Layla smiled and nodded. "Okay." She sat back on the couch, lost in thought now.

Lex closed his eyes, quickly falling asleep.  He slumped over, gradually leaning against Layla.

True lay on the floor, groaning softly.  "Well, Paul, doesn't look like walking isn't on the agenda yet."

Layla carefully and gently wrapped her arms around Lex, letting him sleep. If he was comfy, then it was fine with her.

Paul crouched next to True. "Can I help?"

True smiled.  "Thanks, Paul, but I have to try to figure out how to do this on my own, first.  Let's see... Okay, I'm on the floor and I can't stand up.  My chair is all the way over there.  What do you think I should do?"

Paul pondered this. "Um.... get you and your chair closer?"

"Good plan," True agreed.  He rolled over and began army crawling toward his chair.  Once he arrived, he set the break and pulled himself up into his chair.  "Alright!  We did it!"

Paul cheered when True was back in it, although he was rooting for his brother the whole time.

True chuckled and ruffled Paul's hair.  "We should head home and get some dinner.  You want to go find Shuni while I see where Sam has gotten off to?"

"Okay!" Paul agreed. "Do you think Miss Kat can come over tonight?"

"I don't know," True admitted.  "I think she had work.  If not, would you like to hear a song I wrote?"

Paul beamed. "Yeah! You's and Kat's songs are the best ever!"

"Awe, thanks, puppy!" True chuckled, hugging Paul with one arm.  "Alright, let's get going, eh?  I'm going to go find Sam, you get Shuni.  We'll meet in Lex's room."

"Okay!" Paul agreed and darted off to find Shuni. He peeked in the lab before he checked Dr. Ally's office, where she was still watching anime.
