DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

True stopped and caught his arm. "Sam, what's going on?" he asked, worried.

Sam looked confused, and genuinely so. "What do you mean? I was just zoning out was all."

True hesitated. "That's all? Just zoning? You look like you've got something on your mind, and that look always worries me."

"I'm just thinking is all." Sam said honestly. He gave True a reassuring smile.

True nodded slowly. "Okay. Sorry to interrupt your thinking. Give me a shove?"

Sam smiled and pushed True. "It's okay. What do you think you're going to do today?" He asked his brother.

"I am going to find my song," True said, wincing as he leaned back. "Whatever my song is."

Sam smiled. "Whatever you choose, I know it'll sound great." he said confidently.

"Thanks, little bro," True smiled. "I appreciate that."

Sam's grin widened. Once at the lab, Gaster went straight down, writing and jotting down notes in the weird code he uses. Dr. Ally was making coffee and walked into the hall, sipping it while reading a manga. Sam pushed his brother wherever he wanted and needed pushed to.

"Hey, Dr. Ally!" True called, saluting her. "Thank you, Sam. I can take it from here now that we're indoors."

Ally jumped a little, but waved a little when she saw True before she scurried into her office. Sam smiled and went to find his dad to see what he wanted Sam to do today. The kid managed to see the papers he was using before his dad whisked them away.

True followed Ally to her office and sat in the doorway. "Hey, I wanted to tell you personally thanks for the movies. That Black Butler one is pretty interesting in its idea."

"O-oh." Dr. Ally said as her cheeks turned red. "Y-y-your w-welc-come."

True hesitated. "Why are you so scared of me, Doc?"

"Wh-what d-do you m-mean?" Ally asked. She put a bookmark in her manga and put it away neatly on her shelf.

"Well," he shifted uncomfortably. "You always act so ansty around me and nervous. Did I do something wrong?"

"N-no." Ally said as she shook her head. "P-people i-i-in g-general make m-me nerv-vous."

"I'm sorry. It's just... I'd like a friend. If you think you could tolerate me." He shrugged a little. After being alone his entire life, a friend sounded nice.

Ally looked down. Her face got redder but she was smiling. It was clear she didn't exactly have many friends either. "S-sure. I-if y-y-you c-can t-tol-lerate me t-too."

True smiled and held out a hand to her. "Friends?"

Ally smiled and shook his hand after a pause. "Y-yeah. Fr-friends." Her hands were small, but clearly very adept.

True smiled as he gripped her hand gently then let go. "Will you sho me what you're doing today?"

Ally nodded and pushed her glasses up on her nose before going into some background on her project. She remarkably stuttered a lot less, but the information was complex and sounded very scientific. In essence, True could gather her specific project was on gene splicing.

True mostly smiled and nodded, making the occasional comment, but having very little understanding of what she was doing. When she slowed down, he asked, "So what practical applications are there for, um, gene splicing?"
