DT Serum, Primary Testing In Progress

A corner of Lex's mouth curled up in a smirk.  "Echo, ever thought of working in a pawn shop?  Not one of those sleaze shops, one of the nice ones."

Echo merely shrugged. "Eh. Not really. Not sure how I'd be on a regular storefront."

"It ain't so regular, and there's a lot of haggling going on," Lex said.  "At any rate, it's more reliable pay wise than this."

Echo considered this for a moment. "You really think I'd be good at that?"

"From what I've seen?  Hell yes," Lex told her.  "Can't hurt to give it a try, yeah?"

Echo nodded. "I'll think about it then." She promised.

"Cool.  Gotta go, so, laters," Lex said, sauntering off toward home.

Echo nodded. "Take care." She told him as he left. 

Ashton made it home, and headed upstairs. He had started to get some stuff to restock some of the supplies for tools he had in their old base: stuff for several sizes of smoke bombs, flash pots, and other "distractions."

Lex went in through the front door and followed the sounds of laughter to True's room.  "There's a party and I wasn't invited?"
True looked up from telling Layla and Kat an amusing anecdote and smirked at him.  "Why invite you when I know you'll invite yourself?"

Layla smiled and scooted over, patting a spot on the bed for Lex. "Oh, and True had an idea of something you and I could do....."

Lex gave True a suspicious look as he carefully sat.  "Oh yeah?  What?"

Layla handed him the song lyrics. "He thought we could sing this together. My parts are the blue ones, and yours would be the red. Thoughts?"

"I don't sing," Lex said bluntly without even looking at the papers.
"Layla thinks you do, and so does Kat," True grinned.
Lex's gaze snapped to his brother.  "You played the song?"
"It's a good song!"

Layla lightly placed a hand on Lex's arm. "I asked him to." She defended True. "And I thought you sounded amazing." She complimented, blushing slightly.

Lex hesitated, wilting at her touch.  "Alright, fine, your lies sound good.  What are these words you want me to torture," he grumbled, taking the pages to read.

Layla leaned closer to Lex and went over the parts, murmuring to him which colors meant which. "The only problem is I don't want to make you sound bad."

Lex snorted.  "As if anything could make me sound worse than I already am, but thanks.  Do you want to do it?"

Layla hesitated and nodded. "Kind of, if only to hear you sing." She smiled. "It sent shiver down my spine listening to it."

"Yeah, nails on chalkboard will do that, too," Lex grumbled, but he huffed and nodded.  "Alright, fine.  I'll do it."

Layla smiled and pecked a small, quick kiss on Lex's cheek. "Thank you." She told him. Layla was happy he had agreed, and was eager to hear him sing in person.

Lex grumbled and cleared his throat a couple of times.
True winked at Kat then set up the guitar and the keyboard for drum sounds.  "Alright, Kat if you could help me play the song through a couple of times?  Then you two can try to sing it."

Kat smiled and nodded. "I'm guessing I'll keyboard if you guitar?"

Layla giggled and blushed a little. She thought Lex was handsome and strong, but loved how cute he could be.

"If you please, my lady," True smiled, moving out of her way and setting the guitar on his knee.  "Ready?"

Kat smiled. "Whenever you are, babe." She loved playing with True. He became so wrapped up into the music it was amazing to watch.

True patted out the beat on the side of his guitar then began to strum.  It may as well have been the first time that day of his playing it.  He played with the same passion as the first time, smiling as he watched Kat.  She was so beautiful when she played.
